Do you have people in your family or close friends that have left the Catholic faith? While reading 2 Corinthians 7, I could not help but think of those I know who have been swayed somehow to leave the Church. Their reasons are varied, like hurt, anger, materialism, selfishness, self-righteousness, ignorance, etc. However, in every case it is (or will be) something to rejoice when they come back! I imagine it is something like what Paul felt when he found out that the Corinthians felt bad about the crisis that had been going on in their community (i.e. people were following “false” prophets and turning away from Paul) and they were turning back to follow him. Wouldn’t it be nice if our fellow brothers and sisters realized their error in leaving the Church?
