MERRY CHRISTMAS!
During all the hustle and bustle this week, please remember to take some time to study. This week’s readings are Acts 4:1-5:42.
See and share on our new Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/lifegivingbread.
God bless us, everyone.
Angie
Blessings!
Have you ever wondered what the apostles did after Jesus’ death and resurrection? “The Act of the Apostles” fills us in. In doing so, it reminds us of our responsibility to continue the spread of God’s word.
For this week, Week 2, please read Acts 1:15-3:26. In our readings, we read about Matthias becoming the replacement for Judas as one of the 12 Disciples. Plus, the Day of Pentecost occurs and people speak in tongues. Lastly, Peter heals a lame beggar. Therefore, Jesus is gone, but God is present in spirit and the work of Jesus’ followers begins to ramp up. We too, as followers of Christ, are called to continue this work!
EXTRA! EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT! Our Life Giving Bread group now has a Facebook page! I have created a Facebook page in the hopes of helping the group to share with one another. Recently, I have been reminded by someone interested in joining the group that a major reason for joining is to hear and share stories and thoughts with one another. So far, comments have been pretty sparse on the LGB website. Therefore, I am going to try the Facebook format in hopes that it will make it easier and more likely for members to join in on the conversations. Please “Like” the Life Giving Bread Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/lifegivingbread.
We still have the website http://www.lifegivingbread.com. I will continue to maintain that site as well, as long as it makes sense for the group.
As always, please feel free to contact me if you have any comments, questions, or concerns.
May God bless you and be with you during your study and always.
Merry Christmas!
Angie
It is time to start The Acts of the Apostles study!
All the Ignatius study books have been distributed now for those who requested a copy. I have one copy left, but can also order more if needed. Please contact me if you would like one and to take part in this study.
For Week One, please read:
Merry Christmas and Blesses to you all!
The Ignatius Catholic Study Bible – Acts of the Apostles books are in. If you already told me that you wanted to take part in this study, I will be contacting you to set up a time and place for me to give you your copy.
The cost of the book is $9.56 each. If you wish to write a check, please make it out to St. Athanasius Church.
I will be sending out information soon regarding the start and end date of The Acts of the Apostles study. We may possibly begin as early as this Sunday, if I can get all the books distributed and depending upon the members. Otherwise, we may wait another week.
If you did not request a book, but would like to take part in this study, please let me know so that we can order you a book.
We give thanks.
Thanks we give.
Thanks to Him . . .
For we may live!
May His grace continually be upon you. Happy Thanksgiving!
Angie
I am so excited for our next study! As per request, we will continue on with a new study rather than wait until the spring. Our next study will be The Acts of the Apostles.

Next spring, we will study The Gospel of Matthew.
Please let me know if you are wishing to take part in the Acts of The Apostles study.

FAMILY FAITH EVENT!!! – This Sunday, on November 3rd, from 12:30-2:00PM in St. Athanasius’ cafeteria, we will explore some Bible basics and then hear some of the stories of the Old Testament’s greatest people. This event will be interactive with stories, songs, and visual timeline of the Old Testament. Bring the whole family! Pizza and drinks will be served, compliments of St. Athanasius Faith Formation.
Please let me know how many in your family will be coming, so we will know how much pizza to order. Thank you and hope to see everyone on Sunday!
You can see an advertisement regarding this event in St. Athanasius Church’s bulletin for October 27th at the following link, page 7.
Blessings everyone!
Has everyone concluded their study of the Gospel of Luke? If not, I encourage you to continue on. Plus, I want to take this time to give kudos to Sonia for catching up and to any of you who also worked hard to keep up or catch up! I know everyone can be very busy with everyday life. Pat yourself on the back for taking the time for your spiritual growth!
I would love to get some feedback. Please respond back to me with your input. Either comment on this page, email me, call me, or catch me at school/church:
Our next study will most likely be over the Gospel of Matthew and begin April 2014. (Changes to this may be made. See question #3 above)
In the interim, may I suggest that everyone consider taking part in St. Athanasius’ new Book Club? It is scheduled to being January 1, 2014. It will be an online club, with the option of people choosing to hold meetings if they wish (i.e. Why Catholic groups or groups of friends might want to meet in person to discuss the book). I am working with Maggie Poole to set this up. It will take place on Facebook. Once the information becomes concrete, I’ll pass it on to everyone.
If you are not already in a Why Catholic group, I would also like to suggest this to you. They meet for 6 weeks, twice a year. The fall session is going on now. It is so spiritually uplifting. If you are unable to leave your house, are you open to have others come to you, maybe hosting the group?
Once again, congratulations to all of you for completing or working to complete your study of Luke’s Gospel.
May God bless you in many ways and be in your heart always,
Angie
